What this site is
Ontario Furnace Prices is a price guide for homeowners replacing or repairing a furnace, air conditioner, heat pump, boiler or water heater. Each guide opens with a typical installed range in Canadian dollars, before 13% HST, then explains what moves a real quote toward the low or high end: venting, ductwork, access, efficiency, brand tier and the time of year.
All 15 system types, from a single-stage gas furnace to geothermal, sit in one reviewed price table. The same numbers feed the calculators, the brand pages and the city price snapshots, so the furnace range on a city page matches the range in the furnace guide.
Who writes it
Pages are researched, written and reviewed by the Ontario Furnace Prices editorial team. You will not find invented names, stock headshots or borrowed credentials on our guides. Each page carries the team byline and the date it was last reviewed, so you can judge it on its numbers and its sources.
The work is research and arithmetic: reading publicly posted Ontario contractor pricing, manufacturer and distributor list-price guidance and program rules, then turning them into ranges a homeowner can use. The method is set out in how we estimate prices, and the rules we write by are in our editorial standards.
What we do, and what we do not do
What we do
- Publish typical installed ranges, with the job each range assumes
- Explain what pushes a quote up or down, item by item
- Link rebate rules to the program pages that set them
- Pass your quote request to a participating local company, only when you ask
What we do not do
- Install, sell, rent or service any equipment
- Rate, rank or recommend individual contractors
- Publish testimonials, star ratings or customer counts
- Take money from brands for placement or a better tier
Because we do not rate contractors, nothing on this site endorses a company. Whoever quotes on your home, ask for the price in writing with add-ons itemized. For any gas work, ask for the TSSA registration number: in Ontario, gas work must be done by a TSSA-registered contractor. The furnace buying guide lists more questions worth asking.
How the site is funded
Reading the site costs nothing. It is supported by the participating local heating and cooling companies that receive the quote requests sent through it. There are no advertisements, affiliate links or paid placements on our pages.
How the site is paid for
- You request a quote, if you want one
- A participating local company receives the request
- That company supports the site
How the prices are set
- Public Ontario pricing and manufacturer guidance
- Editorial review, October 2026
- One price table, used on every page
The two lanes never meet. A participating company cannot set, edit or approve a price range, cannot buy a mention for a brand, and is not named in any guide. If its quote for your home lands above or below our range, the range stays where the evidence puts it.

The booking team contacts you
Expect a phone call, which may be automated or AI-assisted, or an email, to confirm a few details and book a free in-home estimate.
You get a price for your home
The estimator checks venting, ductwork, the electrical panel and access, then prices the job. You are under no obligation. Ask for the quote in writing and compare it with our ranges.
Nothing you type is sent until you select Request My Free Quote on the last screen. How your details are used and shared is set out in the privacy policy, and you can opt out of further contact at any time.

Questions people ask
Is Ontario Furnace Prices a contractor?
No. We do not install, sell, rent or service equipment, and we employ no technicians. We publish price guides. When you request a quote, a participating local heating and cooling company receives it and, if you go ahead, does the work under its own name and its own contract.
Who are the participating companies?
They are local heating and cooling businesses that receive quote requests from this site for the areas they serve. We do not name or rate them in our guides. The company that contacts you will introduce itself, and you can ask for its business details, its TSSA registration for gas work and its warranty terms before you book anything.
Can I use the site without requesting a quote?
Yes. Every price guide, calculator and city snapshot is free to read, with no sign-up and no account. The calculators run in your browser and send nothing. The quote form is optional, and it sends your answers only when you select Request My Free Quote on its final screen.
